Every so often, a new product arrives that genuinely catches our attention.
Not because it’s trending, not because it’s new for the sake of being new, but because it offers something different. Something that has the potential to elevate the spaces we design and the homes our clients live in.
That’s exactly how we felt when we were introduced to Éclos by Cosentino.
We’re delighted to share that Éclos is now available through Victoria Kitchens, giving our clients access to one of the most exciting developments in surface design in recent years.

More Than Just Another Worktop
When discussing kitchen design, worktops often become a conversation about practicality. Durability, maintenance, resistance to stains and scratches, all important considerations, of course.
But the best materials do more than perform well. They contribute to the overall character of a space. They help create atmosphere, balance and visual interest.
Éclos does exactly that.
Developed by Cosentino, the company behind some of the industry’s most respected surface innovations including Silestone and Dekton, Éclos introduces a completely new category: the Inlayered Mineral Surface. At its core is Inlayr® technology, a process that uses advanced robotics and layered decoration techniques to create genuine 3D depth and movement within the material itself. The result is a surface that feels remarkably rich, layered and natural, particularly when viewed across larger expanses such as islands and waterfall ends.
What Makes Éclos Different
Éclos isn’t an incremental update to an existing formula. It’s a genuinely new category of surface, and the specifications reflect that.
- Inlayr® 3D Technology: Veining and pattern run through the full depth of the material, not just printed on the surface. Designs remain consistent across edges, mitre joints and waterfall ends, creating a far more natural and cohesive finish.
- Zero Crystalline Silica: Éclos is entirely free from crystalline silica in its formulation, making it one of the safest surfaces available for fabricators, installers and the home environment.
- 50% or More Recycled Content: All colours in the Éclos collection use a minimum of 50% recycled materials. Several colours reach close to 90%, demonstrating a serious commitment to the circular economy.
- Superior Heat Resistance: Through Inlayr® technology, Éclos withstands direct contact with hot cookware at temperatures up to 220°C (428°F), making it genuinely suited to the demands of an active kitchen.
- Improved Flexibility and Impact Resistance: The specific formulation developed for Éclos gives the material better ductility and impact resistance compared to conventional mineral surfaces, reducing the risk of damage during everyday use.
- Visually Architectural: The depth and movement created by Inlayr® technology rewards closer inspection. Veining flows naturally through the material, giving designs a character that is difficult to achieve with printed or surface-applied decoration.
Éclos vs Silestone: How Do They Compare?
Silestone has been one of the most trusted names in kitchen surfaces for decades, and rightly so. Éclos is not a replacement for it; it’s a different tool entirely. Here’s how the two sit alongside each other.
| Éclos by Cosentino | Silestone (HybriQ+®) | |
|---|---|---|
| Material Category | Inlayered Mineral Surface | Hybrid Mineral Surface |
| Crystalline Silica | Zero | Up to 10–40% (HybriQ+® range) |
| Recycled Content | Minimum 50%, up to ~90% | Minimum 20% |
| Heat Resistance | Up to 220°C (direct contact) | Up to 150°C |
| Design Technology | Inlayr® (3D layered, full depth) | Surface-level colour and pattern |
| Edge Consistency | Veining continuous through edges and mitres | Pattern may not carry through to edges |
| Best Suited For | Statement islands, waterfall ends, design-led kitchens | Wide colour range, versatile everyday kitchens |
Both materials are available through Victoria Kitchens, and our design team can help you decide which is the right fit for your project.
Designed With Detail in Mind
What immediately stood out to us wasn’t a specification sheet or a list of technical features.
It was the visual quality.
There is a depth to Éclos that feels considered and architectural. Veining and movement flow through the material in a way that creates continuity across surfaces, edges and details, giving designs a more natural and cohesive appearance.
It’s the sort of material that rewards closer inspection.
Whether paired with a contemporary handleless kitchen, warm timber finishes or a classic painted shaker design, it brings a sense of sophistication without demanding attention.
Why We’ve Chosen to Offer It
At Victoria Kitchens, we carefully curate the materials we present within our studio.
Our goal has always been simple: to offer products that combine beautiful design with lasting performance.
Éclos aligns perfectly with that philosophy.
Alongside its striking appearance, the material has been developed with durability and sustainability in mind, incorporating significant recycled content and a silica-free composition. It’s a forward-thinking approach that reflects where the industry is heading and what many homeowners are increasingly looking for when investing in their homes.
For us, it’s not about replacing existing favourites. It’s about giving our clients another exceptional option when creating a kitchen that’s tailored entirely to them.
A Material That Deserves to Be Seen
Some materials simply don’t translate properly through photographs.
The subtle movement, texture and depth that make them special are best appreciated in person, under natural light, alongside cabinetry samples and other carefully selected finishes.
Éclos is one of those materials.
That’s why we’re so pleased to have it available within our studio, where clients can explore the collection, compare finishes and see how it might work within their own project.
