Outline

Dominic and Sam’s kitchen no longer reflected the rest of their home. The space felt dated, the design lacked personality, and the room wasn’t making the most of its scale or position at the heart of the house.

They wanted something original and tailored to them. A kitchen that felt calm and refined, but still made an impression. Somewhere they could cook, entertain, and spend time together without the room feeling cluttered or overdesigned.

Bernard designed a bespoke Rotpunkt kitchen in Kashmir Matt, pairing soft lacquered cabinetry with textured timber finishes, integrated appliances, and a generous island that became the focal point of the room. The project was completed in May 2026.

The Vision

From the outset, Dominic and Sam were clear about what they wanted. They weren’t looking for a simple replacement kitchen or a refresh of what had been there before. They wanted a kitchen with its own identity. A space that felt considered and luxurious, with clean lines, carefully chosen materials, and enough presence to become the centrepiece of the home.

Stefan first discussed how the kitchen would be used day to day, from cooking and hosting to quieter moments spent together. Bernard, our Senior Designer, then developed a scheme that balanced warmth and simplicity. Rather than relying on decorative features, the design focused on proportion, material contrast, and a layout that allowed every element to feel intentional.

The 3D Blueprint

Bernard, our Senior Designer, worked through several concepts before settling on the final arrangement. The design centred around a large statement island, creating a natural gathering point within the room while maintaining clear routes between preparation, cooking, and storage areas. The island was designed as both a practical workspace and a social feature, incorporating open shelving and subtle lighting details that added character without overwhelming the space.

The surrounding cabinetry was deliberately restrained. Rotpunkt Zerox MA Kashmir Matt cabinetry formed the foundation of the scheme, while textured timber wall units introduced warmth and visual depth. A pale glass splashback reflected light throughout the room, helping the darker timber elements feel balanced and cohesive.

Integrated appliances were selected to preserve the clean architectural lines of the design. A Siemens venting hob allowed uninterrupted views across the island, while tall cabinetry concealed storage and housed the appliance bank. The result was a kitchen that felt streamlined, calm, and effortless to use, whether preparing a quick meal or entertaining guests.

The Handover

Stefan oversaw the project from installation through to handover, with Vanya and Ruslan carrying out the fitting work. The kitchen was installed across 13 working days, with careful attention given to every detail, from cabinetry alignment and lighting integration to the final finishing touches. By completion, the new kitchen felt completely at home within the property and ready to be enjoyed from day one.
